In my free time, I love to practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, play pickleball, bake, play my guitar, travel to new places, and spend time with friends and family. I understand that pain can get in the way of doing what you love most, and I am motivated to get you back to activities that bring you joy.
I am also a larger-bodied physical therapist, and I enjoy working with people of all shapes and sizes to help people be as active as they’d like to be. I have experienced weight stigma in the healthcare setting my entire life, often leaving doctor’s offices feeling ashamed.
I am aware of and practice Health At Every Size, Intuitive Eating, and Joyful Movement in my personal life. I make it a priority to listen to my patients, never assuming that pain is due to size. My goal is to be a physical therapist who people of all shapes and sizes can come to without fear of judgement or prescription of weight-loss to solve whatever pain they may be having.
As a physical therapist, I have the knowledge to modify exercises appropriately so that everyone can participate. I hope to be a source of support for everyone, focusing on discovering movement that brings joy to you and working on getting you back to activity that you enjoy. I feel like through this venture I can be part of the change I want to see in healthcare professionals.
