Pilates is a system of exercises intended to lengthen, strengthen, and balance the body in a private lesson. With consistent practice coupled with focused movement patterns, the Pilates Method has proven to be an incredibly effective fitness regimen and adjunct to professional sports training and physical rehabilitation. With regular practice, individuals will see improvement in core strength, spinal mobility, flexibility, coordination, posture and balance. Pilates has also been shown to increase bone density and joint health.

Learning Pilates in a one-on-one training environment is an excellent way to learn Pilates before attending a large class. Private lessons are also very beneficial for current students to correct execution errors that can prevent progress or cause injury. Joint Ventures offers private Pilates instruction on the Mat, Arc, Reformer, and Tower by a licensed physical therapist who is one of the only Pilates instructors in Boston to have earned the distinction of being a Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) Certified Pilates Teacher.

The private sessions take place within our state-of-the-art gym at our Kenmore Square and Wayland Town Center facilities and all of our Pilates clients are welcome to utilize our cardiovascular equipment before or after their sessions. Complimentary towel and locker use, as well as showers with shampoo, conditioner, and soap are available for clients to use as well.
