Posture Program Intro

Wednesday, February 08, 2012

Posture is an extremely important part of health. It is where movement begins and ends.  Posture doesn’t just indicate musculoskeletal imbalances; it can indicate an injury yet to happen, a food intolerance or bad nutrition habit, even a mood/outlook.

A person can have great standing posture, but poor posture once they move or play their sport. Sub-optimal posture in movement puts an athlete at risk for injury as well as decreases their performance potential.  Poor static (standing) posture can lead to joint pain, shoulder/hip mobility issues and bad aesthetics (dowagers hump, etc).  That’s the bad news.  The good news is that you can change your posture.  With a proper stretching and strengthening program, you can improve your posture to help you, look, feel and function better!
