Michelle Kim, M.A.O.M.
Acupuncturist and Herbologist
Michelle is excited to be a part of the Joint Ventures Physical Therapy and Fitness team, where she will bring her expertise and experience in acupuncture therapy. Her mission is to help patients improve their overall quality of life by providing high quality integrative medicine. She is dedicated to the highest level of professional conduct and ethics.
Michelle received her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (M.A.O.M) in Japanese and Chinese Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture, in Newton, MA. She is board certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture and a Diplomate in Chinese Herbology from the National Certification Committee for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCCAOM). She is also certified by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) in Clean Needle Technique. In addition, Michelle is a graduate of Wellesley College with a Bachelor in Art (B.A.) in Psychology.
Michelle has performed clinical rotations through the acupuncture clinics at The Dimock Center, Pathways to Wellness, and the Department of Family Medicine at Cambridge Health Alliance. In Seoul, South Korea, she did her clinical residency at Kyung-Hee University, Hospital of Oriental Medicine where she worked in the departments of Internal Medicine, Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Department of Gynecology, Department of Pediatrics, and the Department of Sasang Constitutional Medicine. In Tokyo, Japan, Michelle has also studied advanced Shakuju Therapy led by Sohji Kobayashi, a distinguished practitioner and founder of the Shakuju Assocation in 1980.
Michelle is a strong believer in using Traditional and Modern Eastern Medicine and treatment in coordination with Western Medicine and practices to treat disease and maintain wellness. She is happy to have joined the team and is looking forward to the opportunity to serve the needs of its many members.
