Here at Joint Ventures this month (November), a few brave men are participating in what has become known as "Movember." For the month of Movember, men all over the world are summoning their inner Tom Selleck and growing moustaches to promote prostate cancer awareness.
The MOvement started in Australia, and has since gained MOmentum internationally. Prostate cancer kills many men each year, and is something that can be reduced in incidence with regular checkups.
Movember aims to create more awareness for this cause. Conversation about an extremely manly moustache could spur one individual to go for a checkup, and ultimately save their life. People sponsor the MO growers a small amount of cash for the cause, and this money goes to prostate cancer research and awareness.
